About REACH the Beach
Each fall, Salem Academy kicks off the school year with Reach the Beach—a powerful, schoolwide celebration of community, wellness, and whole-student development. On September 12th, a dedicated team of staff and supporters will run nearly 200 miles across New Hampshire as part of Ragnar’s Reach the Beach Relay.
This is more than a race—it’s our fall fundraiser and cornerstone community event. The funds raised through this campaign directly support year-round programming that reinforces those same values—no-user fee athletics and afterschool clubs, leadership development opportunities, and mental and physical wellness initiatives.
While the relay team runs, every student and staff member at Salem Academy participates in REACH Day—a day of off-campus field trips focused on health, wellness, and connection. From mountain hikes to ropes courses, students navigate challenges that build trust, resilience, and confidence.
REACH Day jumpstarts the school year by prioritizing what matters most: connection, community, and student wellness. It’s the first opportunity for students to connect with their new grade-level teachers and reconnect with their peers. More importantly, it sets the tone for the year ahead—establishing trust, communication, and teamwork as essential pillars of our school culture.
